Jelsa is a picturesque tourist village situated in the middle of the island of Hvar. Its beginnings go back to ancient times and in the Middle Ages whilst this island was visited by biologists and archaeologists in search of fragrant herbs and antique monuments. Besides tourism, inhabitants are occupied by agriculture, fishing, olive and vine growing, creating an excellent gastronomic offer.
