Palmižana (more precisely, the Vinogradišće inlet) is situated in one of Hell’s Islands - St Clement. It is a sandy inlet in the shade of the old pines which led the Meneghello family to start with tourism even as early as 1906, on their 300 year-old property. This family brought numerous exotic plants to the island and over time created a rare botanical garden. In 1999, Palmižana was proclaimed one of the 10 most beautiful destinations in the Adriatic. It is the oldest and the most well-known Hvar excursion location and nautical marina. Palmižana’s cuisine is based on fish, crabs and mussel dishes and home-grown vegetables. Prestige foreign magazines have proclaimed it the best Mediterranean cuisine.
