Dalmatian island Vis

Issa, the ancient Vis, was the first organized state and the first ancient Adriatic town to be established by Greek settlers in the 4th century B.C. It was protected by the city walls of which only a small part still remain, although the many other ancient remains prove the town’s age. The special atmosphere is created by the palaces and villas where many famous people have grown, enriching the city’s cultural heritage with their works. The city is beautiful in every season, but there is a really special feeling visiting it in the summer, when the place is crowded with tourists that come and go, hoping to preserve the sun's warmth and the island’s serenity within themselves till the next visit.
