Dalmatian city by the sea Kaštel Štafilić

In 1508, the landed property owner from Trogir, Stjepan Štafileo, ordered the construction of a fortress with a courtyard overlooking the cliff, today this castle is known as castle Rotondo. Around the fortress a village was established of rectangular form, surrounded by a trench. Over the years, this village has developed into today’s Kaštel Štafilić. This little town is full of symbols of Christian culture, such as the church of St.  Martha or the church of St. George, as well as numerous natural monuments.
