Every year, during the last weekend in August, the famous “Wine festival” is organized in Jelsa which lasts two days. All those who come to the festival can enjoy home-made specialities, the best wines from Hvar and a wealth of entertainment which begins in the afternoon with a donkey race , a tug-of-war, taking a prosciutto down from a pillar.....and concerts by famous Croatian artists.
