The first Vis Regatta was held in 1934 and is held traditionally every year, becoming the most popular and most demanding cruiser race in Croatia.
In the beginning it was a non-stop boat race which included night sailing, then in 1955 the route was changed, and the sailing was divided into two races, with the first race ending in Vis or Komiža, and from 1992, the end of the first race is always in Vis.
